Chemring EOD
Chemring EOD - EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL, IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL, SURVEILLANCE AND SEARCH EQUIPMENT Chemring EOD provide an effective electronic, electrical and mechanical design, development and manufacturing service and product supply for military, security and commercial customers throughout the world. The main product ranges for Chemring EOD operate within the following distinct divisions: Military/EOD/IEDD Systems: exploders and accessories, programmable time delay fuses, radio frequency controlled initiation or switching devices, electronic counter measure systems (jammers), remote camera systems Security/Surveillance Systems: under vehicle surveillance systems MILITARY/EOD/IEDD SYSTEMS -
Shrike is a fully approved hard wire exploder which is currently in service in 57 countries worldwide. It has proven itself as a safe, reliable and cost effective system for the initiation of explosives, mines, pyrotechnics and other electro-explosive devices (EEDs). A full range of accessories are available for the Shrike, including rechargeable NiCad and Lithium batteries, SBC5-1 and SBC5-4 battery chargers, STM86 test meter, 8-way adaptors, shock tube (nonel) adaptors, black/brown twisted firing cable and military backpacks. The PED100 system is a fully approved, versatile electronic delay fuse which can be programmed for initiation by the operator for delays between 12 minutes and 100 days. The PED100 Operational Fuse is waterproof to 30m to allow underwater initiation. A recent marine variation to the range is the new underwater connector allowing simpler output connection underwater or in an extreme climatic environment. RADIO FREQUENCY CONTROLLED INITIATION OR SWITCHING DEVICES The RS68 system is in active service throughout the world and is used for the remote initiation of explosives and pyrotechnics in a battlefield simulation or special operations environment. The system comprises of a transmitter, a single firing circuit receiver and a ten firing circuit receiver. Up to 192 individual firing circuits can be controlled from a single transmitter and numerous receivers can be set to the same code for simultaneous initiations. A Code Plug version is also available. The Mini RABS (Remote Answer Back System) is a safe, secure, radio controlled initiation system. The system comprises of a transmitter and up to 81 individually identifiable small, lightweight, single firing circuit receivers. Two-way communication between the transmitter and the receivers allows the remote interrogation by the operator to confirm the output firing line continuity, armed condition and battery status of the receivers, both prior to and after initiation. ELECTRONIC COUNTER MEASURE SYSTEMS (JAMMERS) Chemring EOD have been specifying and manufacturing Jamming equipment since the early 1990’s. Chemring EOD’s background in RF based initiation and other EED/security applications enable the company to understand the requirements posed by such equipments. The design configuration of Chemring EOD ECM equipment is the utilization of “Sweep" or “Barrage" techniques, or a combination of the two. REMOTE CAMERA SYSTEMS The Jack-In-A-Box remote camera system is available for the monitoring of bomb neutralization techniques and operations by an EOD team. The system can be operated by either radio frequency or fibre optic cable. Deployment can either be by a bomb disposal technician or a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV). SECURITY/SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS - As the modern day alternative to under vehicle search mirrors, the Colour UVSS provides security personnel with a fast and effective method of viewing the underside of vehicles by providing the operator with a clear image on a touch screen of the undercarriage within seconds of the vehicle driving over the digital line scan camera unit. As the vehicle remains moving at all times (speeds up to 30km/h), the operator has time to interrogate the image without lengthy disruptions to traffic flow. A separate camera captures the number plate/driver of the vehicle for reference. The Colour UVSS is available in mobile or static formats. |
