Germany's Krupp Mannesman selects Sepura
Sepura TETRA radios have been selected by the Krupp Mannesmann steel factory in Duisburg, Germany. The radios will operate on the advanced digital communication system supplied by 3T Communications AG.
The new TETRA system, whose implementation started in December 2005, was adapted to meet the specific requirements of the hostile environment of the steelworks. The Krupp Mannesmann steelworks produce 5.5 million tons of steel per year. More than 2600 employees contribute to the production of 12% of Germany's steel output from the industrial complex in Duisburg.
Sepura TETRA radios will be used by the fire brigade and all the plant's staff members who depend on reliable and safe communications. Erich Pfaffelmayer, Director of TETRA for 3T Communications AG commented: "Sepura TETRA radios were selected as they allow voice communications, emergency calls and packet data transmission. In addition, their rugged and robust design makes them ideal for the extreme environment of the steel plant.
Kenneth Hubner, Regional Director for Sepura commented: "This important deal reaffirms the successful partnership between Sepura and 3T in Germany. In addition, at Sepura we are proud that Krupp Mannesmann joins the growing customer base of prestigious German organisations that have chosen Sepura radios for their digital communications requirements.
