Mexico utility agency comes back for more Sepura radios
Mexico's state power company, Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), has again selected Sepura's hand-held TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) radios to expand its existing digital radio network.
One of the fastest growing utility companies in the world, CFE generates, transports and supplies electricity to nearly 80 million Mexicans, and manages over 45,000 km of transmission network lines.
This new order for Sepura SRH3500 sGPSâ„¢ radios increases the number of Sepura hand-helds already used by CFE for their TETRA communications. These provide secure and reliable voice and data communications across their electricity generation and distribution teams.
The contract was won through Sepura's valued partner, Telvent, after extensive and close collaboration to support CFE's needs
Tim Mills, Sepura's Regional Director in Latin America, said: "This order illustrates our increasing strength in the market place in Mexico. As this is a top-up order it also highlights the customer's satisfaction with the quality and benefits of our products and sales support.
Engineers in the metropolitan regions of Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico's second and third biggest cities, will use the handsets to manage their distribution network and to monitor and respond to incidents.
Sepura's SRH3500 sGPSâ„¢ is the smallest, lightest and most rugged hand-held TETRA radio available today. Its ergonomic design gives users access to essential functions with the minimum of key presses. The high-resolution greyscale screen option that CFE selected is unique to Sepura products and gives total visibility in bright sunlight.
This radio incorporates an audio boost and user-selectable large text option to ensure communication is possible in the most challenging operational environments. An integral GPS module provides the Automatic Person Location safety feature that's essential to locate staff at all times.
