BAE SYSTEMS NORTH AMERICA NAMES SHAWN D. JAMES VICE PRESIDENT FOR SECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
BAE SYSTEMS North America has announced the appointment of Shawn D. James as vice president of Business Development for the company's Technology Solutions Sector with responsibility for identifying new business opportunities. He succeeds Andrew Kirksey who was recently appointed vice president and general manager of a new Surface Warfare business unit.
"I am very pleased to have Shawn join the Sector's management team,� said Bruce Hamilton, president of the Technology Solutions Sector. "Shawn has been very successful in identifying and qualifying new opportunities and increasing the business base for our Advanced Technology Solutions business. His experience and leadership will be invaluable in bringing new growth strategies and initiatives to the company.�
James joined BAE SYSTEMS in 2000 as director, Future Programs. In that position, he was responsible for developing programmes focused on the Naval Strike, Information Operations, Special Operations, and Intelligence communities.
Prior to joining BAE SYSTEMS, James was a U.S. Naval Intelligence Officer. James holds a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and received his master's degree in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power School.
