Sepura provided TETRA radios during Pope Benedict XVI's holiday retreat in the Italian Alps, to assist in the smooth running of his visit.
During the Pope's stay more than 15,000 pilgrims converged on the small city of Bressanone, when he made two public appearances from outside the Cathedral. Organisers allocated 9,000 free tickets for each day, while others followed the event on giant screens.
Sepura SRH3500 GPS Hand-held radios and SRM3500 Mobile vehicle radios were supplied by GEG, Sepura's partner in northern Italy, to organisers, municipal police and civil protection volunteers.
Emanuele Algieri, Sepura's Regional Sales Director, said: "It was an excellent achievement by our partner to secure this prestigious order. Once again this confirms that Sepura radios are the most suitable for events where there are large and congested crowds."
