Argentine police force increases order with Sepura
Mendoza Police, the second in Argentina to switch its critical communications to digital TETRA radios, has placed a further order with Sepura.
It confirms Mendoza's satisfaction with the large number of Sepura radios deployed last year and emphasises Sepura's growth in South America after recent sales successes in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Panama.
The order secured by Intema, Sepura's partner in Argentina, increases the fleet of SRM3500 vehicle radios. These, along with the large number of SRH3500 hand-held radios in the original contract, possess the GPS functionality that can locate vehicles and officers at any time.
Mendoza's police face tough urban issues and mountainous terrain in a large land-locked region of two million people at the west of Argentina. The TETRA network also allows communication with other services including mountain rescue.
Training and technical support have played a considerable role in the smooth transition from analogue to TETRA. Extensive training support from Sepura's technical engineers instructed Mendoza's team leaders who then passed on the learning process to all other officers. Furthermore, Sepura has provided rapid onsite response to solve technical issues.
The force is also the first in South America to take delivery of Sepura's market-leading Radio Manager. This automatically configures the functionality and group profile of the radios, making considerable savings in time and money and significantly reducing the logistical challenges of maintaining a fleet of TETRA radios.
David Chapiro, President of Intema, Sepura's distributor in Argentina, said: "Mendoza Police have found the radios to be the ideal solution to their communications needs. They're versatile, robust and designed for harsh public safety environments."
Tim Mills, Sepura's Regional Director in South America, said: "The list of sales wins continues in this part of the world. Indeed, Mendoza is a good example of Sepura providing both first-class products and unrivalled technical support and customer care."
