Saab signs data link contract in Australia
The defence and security company Saab has signed a contract with the Australian Defence Material Organisation to develop a multi-link communication capability for the ANZAC and Canberra class ships.
The order value for Saab is approximately SEK 195 million, within a project worth approximately SEK 252 million.
The planned contract period is five years, starting from today, and the main body of work will be done at Saab's Adelaide facility in Australia.
Saab provides combat systems design expertise within the Royal Australian Navy ANZAC ship Alliance and to navies globally.
Saab already has contracts to upgrade the ANZAC ships 9LV combat management systems through the Anti-ship Missile Defence project and the development of combat management systems for the amphibious ships.
Multi-link communication is a key capability that will be re-used world wide in Saab's combat management systems, fighter command and control systems and similar environments.
