Rafael Receives Frost & Sullivan's "2009 Global Defense Industry Product of the Year Award
Frost & Sullivan Congratulates Rafael at DSEi
London UK. The "2009 Global Defense Industry Product of the Year Award is determined to Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., Haifa, Israel, in recognition of its product ASPRO HMT. ASPRO HMT is Rafael's latest and most advanced hybrid armor protection system. Mr. Andrew Thorndyke, European Director at Frost & Sullivan visited Rafael's stand at DSEi to congratulate Rafael's Executive VP Marketing, Mr. Lova Drori, on receiving the award.
ASPRO HMT is an upgrade of Rafael's battle proven; insensitive reactive armor used by a number of armies around the world on their main battle tanks, armored fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers. The product has demonstrated a unique combination of passive and reactive armor which has the capacity to withstand multiple threats including Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG). Rafael has an impeccable track record of developing and supplying customized armor within a short period of time, sometimes less than six months. There are a select group of companies which have developed the technology to produce add on armor. But none have yet successfully implemented a combination of reactive and passive armor. The product has received strong accolades from several European countries, NATO and the US. Rafael anticipates its hybrid armor to be integrated into future APC and MPV programs worldwide.
