MILKOR launches STOPPER II Convertible to complement their existing range of 37/38mm and 40mm weapons.
MILKOR, in its ongoing quest to remain ahead of the rest, recently launched its new STOPPER II Convertible to complement their existing range of 37/38mm and 40mm weapons.
The 40mm STOPPER II Convertible is an extremely light-weight weapon that is visibly smaller than any of its predecessors. A single-shot break-open weapon system with a spring-loaded firing mechanism Stopper II Convertible has a compact modern design and comprises mostly composite materials, with calibre interchange-ability utilising removable barrels.
This 40mm anti-riot/Special Forces penetration weapon is designed to be part of a new range of weapons that can be carried on the person without limiting maneuverability.
Typical use of the STOPPER II
The compact design of the Stopper II makes this weapon ideal for mobile-, para-military- and mobile infantry units as a light-weight 40mm single shot support weapon, easily strapped to existing webbing, capable of safely absorbing any sort of impact collisions. Collateral damage can be minimised by the latest range of specialised ammunition
This new weapon is unique in many ways and differs considerably from the "tried and tested" 37/38mm STOPPER of which more than 20 000 have been sold all over the world.
STOPPER ll Convertible has a removable butt stock which transforms it into a holster-able "Pistol" for use in prisons or even as a survival weapon for pilots. MILKOR has designed its own thigh holster for this configuration.
Another unique feature is the interchangeable barrel. Not only can the weapon be used in the 37/38 mm configuration, but also as a 40 mm weapon offering both rifled (for arming of lethal rounds) and non -rifled (for Less Lethal rounds) barrels in different lengths! Barrels can be changed in ‘the field' by the operator within minutes.
Stopper II Convertible is ideal for Law enforcement agencies for crowd control, firing a range of Less Lethal type ammunition in both calibers. Far more compact than the bulky 56 mm systems on offer and compliant with International Peacekeeping requirements in the 37/ 38 mm configuration.
Small, light, robust and easy to handle - a perfect choice !
MILKOR (Pty) Ltd South Africa's new 40mm Lightweight Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL)
Due to a worldwide growing demand for a simple, easy to operate, robust but light-weight single shot Under Barrel Grenade Launcher "UBGL", MILKOR set about designing just that. The new Milkor 40mm UBGL weighs in at under 1 kg.
Unique features include a "Push Button" trigger mechanism as opposed to a traditional trigger. Users stated the need to differentiate between firing mechanisms of the rifle and the Under Barrel as the soldier invariably, under duress, tend to pull the incorrect trigger if presented with two triggers.
Another feature is the ‘Swing- to- the- side' opening mechanism enabling the user to easily load all types of ammunition, even when lying down (prone), without having the rifle's magazine interfering or the slide mechanism not opening sufficiently to load a longer round.
The Milkor 40mm UBGL can be attached by Picatinny rail to virtually any existing assault rifle, improving greatly the fire power and -ability of infantry soldiers in the battlefield, or even riot policing systems.
We are able to design and provide customized Picatinny attachment pieces for rifles not already fitted Picatinny rails.
