QinetiQ North America to provide IT support to U.S. Secret Service
Task orders will enhance Secret Service enterprise infrastructure
The Department of Homeland Security has awarded QinetiQ North America three task orders worth more than $5 million to provide information technology (IT) support to the US Secret Service's Washington, DC, headquarters.
The three task orders-Exchange Support Services, Active Directory Security Support, and Network Services and Technical Support-all involve the provision of IT services that establish, maintain and secure the networks on which the day-to-day mission and business activities of the agency depend. Exchange Support Services will involve planning, upgrading, securing and maintaining a Microsoft Exchange(TM) e-mail environment. Active Directory Security Support will help standardize and secure the Active Directory environment and its related services. Finally, Network Services and Technical Support will assist the agency in maintaining its network.
"We are extremely pleased to extend the relationship we have with other elements of the Department of Homeland Security to the Secret Service," says Jim Graves, Senior Vice President of QinetiQ North America's Homeland Security Business Unit. "Exchange, Active Directory and the network itself are the way any modern agency does business, and we intend to give the Secret Service reliable, affordable and state-of-the-art support."
"Like any other member of the federal law enforcement or intelligence communities, the Secret Service needs the wherewithal to accomplish its mission reliably and affordably," adds Steve Cambone, President of QinetiQ North America's Mission Solutions Group. "Its network environment is where it transacts its daily business. We are proud the Secret Service selected us to deliver the support it needs in its daily operations."
The Department of Homeland Security awarded QinetiQ North America the task orders under Functional Area 2 of the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading-Edge Solutions (EAGLE) Contract. EAGLE is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract designed to be the Department of Homeland Security's preferred source of IT services for its enterprise infrastructure and other initiatives. QinetiQ North America is an EAGLE prime contractor.
