American Science and Engineering, Inc. Receives Follow-on Order from NATO C3 Agency for Z Portal X-Ray Screening System
Multi-View, High-Throughput, Drive-Through Screening System Purchased for for Checkpoint Security at a Strategic Facility
American Science and Engineering, Inc., a leader in X-ray detection technology, announced today that NATO C3 Agency has awarded AS&E a multimillion dollar follow-on order for a multi-view Z Portal X-ray screening system to deploy at a strategic security checkpoint.
"The Z Portal system provides NATO's NC3A agency with proven technology to find hidden threats and contraband in vehicles and cargo at high-risk facilities and other checkpoints," said Anthony R. Fabiano, President and CEO of AS&E. "With photo-like images from three sides of the cargo, the Z Portal system offers the most effective and safest high-throughput, drive-through screening system. This new follow-on order demonstrates NC3A's satisfaction with the Z Portal system's capabilities."
AS&E's Z Portal Cargo & Vehicle Screening System:
High-Throughput, Drive-Through Inspection
The Z Portal system is the most comprehensive screening system available with multi-view, drive-through inspection of cars, vans, trucks, and their cargo. Z Portal system's patented Z Backscatter technology produces photo-like images for superior detection capability of plastic and liquid explosives, narcotics, and plastics weapons, drugs, stowaways, and alcohol. With its compact design, the Z Portal system is ideal for high-traffic locations with space constraints and a high-throughput requirement and is safe for drivers, operators, cargo, and the environment. The system is available in two sizes - one for large trucks, buses, and cargo vehicles, and a smaller size for passenger vehicles. Customers include U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Abu Dhabi Customs, and NATO.
