Air Malta Equips New Airbus Fleet with
Telair Sliding Carpet Loading Systemsâ„¢
Telair International, a Teleflex Company (NYSE:TFX), announced today that Air Malta will equip its entire new fleet of 12 Airbus aircraft with a total of 17 Telair Sliding Carpet Loading Systemsâ„¢. The Telair system mechanizes the process of loading and unloading baggage and cargo on narrowbody aircraft.
Five A320 aircraft will be equipped with both forward and aft Sliding Carpet Systems. Seven A319 aircraft will be equipped with aft Sliding Carpet Systems. Delivery of the aircraft will begin in January 2004 and continue through 2007.

The Sliding Carpet Loading Systemâ„¢ consists of a low-weight, on-board motorized conveyor belt and connected system bulkhead. A single on-board cargo handler brings the moving bulkhead to and from the cargo door using simple controls, loading or unloading baggage on the conveyor from one position. More than 2200 Sliding Carpet Systems fly today on nearly 50 carriers worldwide.
