Telair Receives AS9100A, ISO9001 Certifications For Cargo Handling Systems and Aircraft Components
Telair International, a Teleflex Company (NYSE:TFX), announced today that it has received both SAE AS9100A and IS0 9001:2000 Certifications for the design, production, assembly, and sales of aircraft cargo handling systems and aircraft components.
The certifications represent professional, third-party validation accepted in more than 130 countries that Telair has institutionalized a quality management system ensuring that products delivered will be free of defects and meet the intended use or application. The certifications also act to reduce operating costs by reducing on-site OEM inspections and put in place processes and metrics that make continuous improvements easier.
"These are extremely important validations of our process and product quality that will act to strengthen our relationships with customers, said Telair President Axel Hauner. "We are especially pleased that these certifications come at a time when key decisions are being made on critical new and emerging aircraft platforms.
The AS9100A Standard builds on the ISO9001:2000 Standard by addressing issues and requirements specific to the aerospace industry. AS9100A has approximately 80 additional requirements plus other requirements and 18 amplifications of the ISO 9001:2000 Standard. ISO 9001:2000 is an international standard designed to provide a broad range of industries with a common approach to applying a Quality Management System.
