Aerostar, Romanian's leading aerospace company has started maintenance for the Airbus A320 aircraft.
This follows the granting of EASA Part 145 approval earlier this year to Aerostar for the Airbus A320 family of airliners, building on approvals already in place for the Boeing 737 family and BAe 146/Avro RJ jetliners.
The new contract, which is being carried out at Aerostar's Bacau facility is for an aircraft of Sky Wings Airlines of Greece. The A320-231 (msn 376), equipped with V2500 engines, arrived on October 9 and will undergo a ‘C' Check, complete landing gear replacement and embodiment of all Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
The work is being carried out in Aerostar's new 5,000 square meter hangar which was opened in May and which doubled the company's commercial aircraft MRO capacity.
