Telair Sliding Carpet System Receives STC For A319/320
Telair International, a Teleflex Company (NYSE:TFX), announced today that it has received a Supplemental
Type Certificate (LFV.S.21E2.0001) for installation and operation of the Sliding Carpet Loading Systemâ„¢ onboard Airbus A319/A320 aircraft.
"This is a key milestone in our strategy to offer the Sliding Carpet System as a retrofit installation to our customers flying A319 and A320 fleets,� said Anders Helmner, Vice President, Telair Narrowbody Group. "Telair is positioned and prepared to serve these fleets worldwide on short notice.�
The Sliding Carpet System - consisting of an motorized conveyor belt and connected bulkhead mounted in the cargo bay of the aircraft - reduces operating costs by minimizing damage to aircraft and baggage, manpower requirements, and injuries to cargo handlers among other benefits. More than 2500 installed systems today serve over 50 carriers worldwide, proving to be 99.9 percent reliable.
