BAE SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR DOD PROGRAMS

BAE Systems has been selected by the Department of Defense as a prime contractor under the Advanced Technology Support Program III (ATSP3) program, a U.S. government-wide contracting vehicle administered by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA).

ATSP3 permits government customers to quickly place technology-related contracts to update or improve existing hardware, software or systems. ATSP reduces customer procurement processing time and the cost of technology insertion into fielded systems. Customers include federal and state organisations as well as U.S. allies.

"By streamlining access, we can help provide the end user the most current technology solutions at the best possible value," said Gary Turner, BAE Systems ATSP3 program director. This is a very efficient way for DMEA and its customers to directly access the full capability of BAE Systems to resolve technologically complex problems."

BAE Systems' Information & Electronic Warfare Systems (IEWS) in Nashua, New Hampshire, will manage the program for all of BAE Systems.

ATSP3, similar to its predecessor ATSP2, is an Indefinite Delivery and Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracting vehicle that provides streamlined access to the full range of BAE Systems engineering and technology solutions. The contract was awarded to multiple contractors and has an initial performance period of five years with two five-year options. The total funding for the ATSP3 contract for all awards is $4.7 billion.

Other ATSP3 participants include: The Boeing Co. Phantom Works, Seattle, Washington; General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Honeywell Defense and Space Electronic Systems, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, Owego, New York; Northrop Grumman Space & Missions Systems, Redondo Beach, California; Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Linthicum Heights, Maryland.; and Raytheon Technical Services Co., Long Beach, California.
