ANA Orders Telair Sliding Carpet Loading System For All B737-700s
MIESBACH, GERMANY, in September , 2004. Telair International, a Teleflex Company (NYSE:TFX), announced today it has received a firm order from ANA (All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd) of Japan for forty-five (45) Telair Sliding Carpet Loading Systems TM. Boeing will install the systems in the aft cargo bays of new B737-700 Passenger aircraft as Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE). ANA will take delivery of the aircraft in 2005-2012.
"Telair Sliding Carpet Loading System enables us to reduce the number of the ground staff for baggage loading/off-loading, which means great saving in the ground handling cost, "said Mr. Tomohiro Hidema, ANA's Executive Vice President for Purchasing.
"ANA is a recognized leader in the Asia Pacific market, operating to the highest standards in aircraft safety, reliability, and economics as it aggressively expands its Asian network to meet market demands," said Anders Helmner, Vice President, Telair Narrowbody Group. "We believe ANA's evaluation, validation, and selection of our Sliding Carpet System for its new, business-critical narrowbody fleet validates once again the cost reductions and performance our system brings to carrier operations."
The Sliding Carpet System reduces costs by making the loading and unloading of narrowbody aircraft much more efficient. The system requires just one onboard loader while providing the means for the airline to best meet demanding schedules and baggage transfers as well as respond to extraordinary security requirements. The system has also proven to reduce damages to the aircraft and bags during operations, and reduce personnel injuries from awkward loading and crawling through the bay.
As a leading industry innovator, last April ANA became the launch customer for the Boeing 7E7 with deliveries beginning in 2008.
