Jordan Aerospace Industries Wins US Army Tender for 16 Surveillance Aircraft in Iraq
Jordan Aerospace Industries (JAI) through its partner TransAtlantic Traders - Jordan secured a US$12 million deal to provide the Iraqi Air Force with 16 state of the art Sama CH2000 Surveillance aircraft.

The IFR certified Sama provides effective and safe day and night time missions and is equipped with FLIR IR system a multi sensor imager offering high performance, precision, and high level imaging. The Sama CH2000 will also be equipped with the state of the art Harris communication systems guarantying continuous and secure air and land communications using various band width.
Training for the Iraqi pilots will take place in cooperation with the Jordan-based Mideast Aviation Academy and the Royal Aero Club. Our bilingual qualified pilots, CFI instructors and highly skilled mechanics form the support team required to assure the long-term success of the project.
According to Feras Mash the President of TransAtlantic Traders (TAT) an American Company with a regional office in Jordan "this deal is an important step in positioning Jordan and JAI in meeting the region's aviation sector requirements". TAT has supplied the US forces in Iraq with civil defense equipment along with other items.
JAI is the owner of the Sama CH2000 FAA based Type Certificate, a status earned through a partnership with the 35-year-old Zenair Ltd., a Canadian company with manufacturing facilities in Canada and the US. The privately owned JAI manufacturers nine other multifunctional aircraft, ranging from the American one-seater Vortex "Sports Copter,� to the low-noise, low-speed two-seater German Remos Rali. JAI also produces agricultural, rescue and ambulance aircraft including the Hawk-I CH801 from Zenair Ltd of Canada and AMD of the US.
