Curtiss-Wright Controls Awarded Contract by Kamov
Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. today announced that it received a contract from the Kamov division of Russian Helicopters to supply rugged data acquisition systems for use on the new Ka-62 helicopter. The Ka-62 rotorcraft first prototype recently received its first public appearance at the MAKS 2013 air show in Zhukovsky, Russia, near Moscow. Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright Controls' Avionics & Electronics (CWC-AE) division provided Russian Helicopters with its Acra KAM-500 data acquisition products. Shipment of the products was completed in late 2012.
The Acra KAM-500 is used to acquire and record test parameters during the Ka-62's flight testing program. Russian Helicopters will use this data as part of the certification process for the new helicopter. Importantly, the quality and reliability of the data acquired by the KAM-500 will make it easier to satisfy FAA and EASA requirements and help reduce the time required to certify the rotorcraft.
