J&S Franklin launch DEFENCELL MAC at DSEI 2013
J&S Franklin will officially launch their new range of protective welded mesh metal gabions for defence and security applications, DEFENCELL MAC which brings together the engineering experience of gabion pioneers Maccaferri and the proven advantages of DefenCell fabrics at DSEI 2013 on Stand No: N10-350
Building upon the success of the DefenCell products, DEFENCELL MAC is the new range of protective welded mesh metal gabions, lined with geotextile and supplied in a selection of standard sizes from 0.60m (2ft) to 2.12m (7ft). Once in place these gabions can be filled with locally available materials such as earth or sand, to provide ballistic protection, blast mitigation and HVM vehicle barriers.
MAC can also be used for environmental applications and is ideal for flood protection.
DEFENCELL MAC is constructed using the highest quality materials to established and tested standards, using zinc coated steel wire welded mesh panels and corner coils combined with a heavy duty durable geotextile lining material created from UV resistant polypropylene fibre using the same advanced technology as the proven DefenCell fabrics.
DEFENCELL MAC gabions are supplied pre-assembled for fast installation and folded flat for ease of transportation. They require no specialised labour for installation and are easy to deploy by simply pulling open, positioning and filling.
DEFENCELL MAC has been fully tested, against a range of ballistic threats and different explosive charges, and meets the protection requirements on STANAG 2280
