New System for Jamming Remote Controlled Explosive Devices Activated Against Vehicles at DSEI
Elbit Systems Ltd.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, Elbit Systems EW and SIGINT - Elisra Ltd. (Elisra), launched today a new Electronic Warfare system that jams Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RC-IEDs) activated against armored and VIP vehicles. The system, Miniature Reactive Jammer (MRJ), operates in high frequency ranges, is suitable for protection of any vehicular platform and is designed for a range of missions dealing with continuous border security, personal security, incursions into hostile areas and protection of vehicle convoys.
While previous systems on the market are active, operating continuously, the MRJ is a reactive system that analyses intercepted signals and jams potential threats more efficiently and cost-effectively, by concentrating the jamming energy on a particular frequency range or on a specific frequency only. Compared with active systems, the MRJ consumes fewer resources, provides higher quality jamming and handles in real time all types of modern threats across The Electro Magnetic Spectrum.
Edgar Maimon, General Manager of Elisra, stated: "The new system is a breakthrough in the field of jamming RC-IEDs activated against military and VIP vehicles due to its ability to effectively counter modern threats, while saving energy and minimizing the risks in detection, as opposed to previous systems.
