navAero iPad and Tablet Class 2 EFB Systems with Aircraft Interface Device

navAero announces the introduction of our iPad and Tablet "Smart" Mount Class 2 EFB systems available with Universal Aircraft Interface Device - UAID.

The highly adaptable "Smart" Mount system allows tablet devices to be deployed as non-connected mount-only Class 2 EFB. Or when equipped with an integrated power/data interface module, these tablets can realize certified connectivity to aircraft power as well as data provided through the navAero UAID.

The navAero UAID is a multi-functional enhanced AID and is the key to allowing iPad and other tablet devices to realize increased functionality as deployed Class 2 EFB platforms.
The UAID provides simultaneous connectivity of tablet shipsets to aircraft ARINC 429 data - such as position, speed, heading - as well as status discrete signals. With internal storage capabilities and an internal dedicated ARM-based processing platform running a customized Linux operating system, the UAID provides storage and forwarding of ARINC 717 data for QAR, Lifetime-QAR as well as other aircraft-health information.

For customers who request professional assistance in obtaining the required documentation that will enable them to gain FAA/EASA authorization for in-flight use of the tablet device, navAero provides RTCA DO160-G test results for Electromagnetic Interference and Rapid Decompression on Samsung ATIV Tab7 tablet computers and fourth generation iPadâ„¢ tablet computers. Similar testing on other tablet devices is presently in-process.
