France's DCI and UK's SCS have just won the EDA "Naval Training Support Study" (NTSS) contract
Défense Conseil International (DCI) in consortium with SCS - a British company specialised in defence and security counselling, have just won the "Naval Training Support Study" (NTSS) call for bids which had been launched by the European Defence Agency (EDA). This contract is about conducting a study on the training fields regarding navigation, mine warfare and diving.
The NTSS project is part of the "Pooling & Sharing" process put into place by the European Union. It is aiming at sharing and pooling military capacities of the member states in order to reduce costs and optimise the efficiency of European Defence capabilities. This means: harmonising the military needs, working in close cooperation for research, training courses and exercises, and sharing the same procedures and command structures.
This one-year project's objective is to conduct a study for each concerned field and to:
- provide landscape of existing capabilities;
- propose possible common requirements;
- derive shortfalls based on the gap analysis;
- and propose recommendations to solve them
