Saab signs Support Contract with the British Army

Defence and security company Saab and the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a 3 year contract for support and service of the Direct Fire Weapon Effects Simulator System (DFWES), used by the British Army. The order amounts to MSEK 220.

Since 1994, Saab has supplied and operationally supported the DFWES system which is designed to enable live collective Battle Group training in theUK,Canadaand on a smaller scale inGermany.

"This new contract, extending the use of the capability, is proof of the strong relationship between Saab and the British Army, and a renewal of our commitment as a highly trusted overall training provider to a leading military customer." says Henrik Höjer, Vice President and Managing Director Training and Simulation at Saab.

DFWES is an appended precision laser based tactical engagement system for vehicles/armour and anti-tank weapons in force-on-force exercises to simulate the effect of weapon engagements that enables realistic and challenging training.
