Rockwell Collins to launch new airborne mission computers

Rockwell Collins is featuring a number of new products, including the launch of its new FMC-4000 series of flight and mission computers, at the ILA Berlin Air Show.

A detailed announcement about the FMC-4000, which leverages the company's proven expertise as one of the largest suppliers of mission computers, will be issued on the first day of the show, and product demonstrations will be taking place at the Rockwell Collins exhibit (Hall 2, Stand 2104).

"The new FMC-4000 modular portfolio brings unique flexibility and easy upgradability for mission computing across a wide range of military and civil aircraft," said Claude Alber, vice president and managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Rockwell Collins. "It's especially exciting to be unveiling this new product at the Berlin Air Show since this product line was developed in our Heidelberg, Germany, facility, which serves as Rockwell Collins European Center of Excellence for Fighter and Trainer aircraft and mission computers."

For military customers in the region, Rockwell Collins will also showcase a new cockpit concept for fighters using a single large area display designed to reduce pilot workload while improving situational awareness. A similar display is also applicable on trainer aircraft to facilitate pilot training.
