Air New Zealand Orders Telair Lower Deck Cargo Systems
MIESBACH, GERMANY, May 2005: Telair International announced it has received a firm order from Air New Zealand for seven (7) Telair Lower Deck Cargo Loading Systems for retrofit on B747-400 Passenger aircraft. The order also includes the option for one (1) additional lower deck retrofit system.
The systems will be installed by Air New Zealand with the first aircraft placed in service the coming months. All seven aircraft included in the firm order will be placed in service by early 2006.
"This is a very important order as it brings another highly prestigious carrier in a key growth region into our family of valued customers, said Axel Hauner, Telair President. "We look forward to serving the needs of Air New Zealand anytime, anywhere in the world.
"This order is also important because it acts to bring market attention back to Telair's proven product lines for widebody passenger aircraft. Over the past several months we have received and discussed firm orders for B747-400 Special Freighter conversions and B747-400 Extended Range Freighters Systems -strategic markets for Telair. However, Telair also continues to be strongly focused on Boeing and Airbus widebody passenger aircraft, and are aggressively developing new and continuously improved components and systems for these platforms, including FAA certified PMA replacement parts.
Telair Cargo Loading Systems are differentiated by their low-weight highly robust designs. Both main and lower deck systems feature uniquely intelligent power drive units that sense and react to operating conditions in ways that minimize system and aircraft downtime. Further, an industry-first interactive, on-board diagnostic system also helps to optimally schedule preventive maintenance.
