Malaysia Airlines Purchases Telair Cargo Loading Systems For New B747-400 Freighters
Telair International announced today it has received a firm order from Malaysia Airlines System (MAS) for main and lower deck cargo loading systems for two (2) new B747-400 Freighters.
The systems will be installed by Boeing as Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) for delivery in January and March of 2006. The order also contained the option for Telair main and lower deck systems for one (1) additional B747-400 Freighter, with delivery to be determined.
"Malaysia Airlines is a key player in the core group of airlines growing the Asia Pacific air freight industry. Their selection of our cargo systems for new B747-400 Freighters further strengthens our long-term position to serve the region from Seoul to Sydney and beyond, said Axel Hauner, Telair President.
Carriers are selecting Telair Cargo Loading Systems because they are very low weight yet built for long service life. Hardware components have been designed using state-of-the-art and trade secret engineering techniques to uniquely handle high-stress loads. Embedded system intelligence monitors the health of powered components and alerts the cargo master to preventive maintenance. Smart sensors in the system power drive units also act to self-protect these components from damage.
Malaysia Airlines is an award-winning airline with a fleet of more than 100 aircraft, serving more than 100 different destinations on six continents. The MAS fully computerized cargo center is one of the most efficient operating in the Asia
Pacific region. With a storage area spanning 166,000 square feet and an annual cargo capacity of 300,000 tons, the facility is patronized by several airlines.
