GKN Aerospace engine services expertise exhibited at EBACE

GKN Aerospace will be promoting the expertise of its engine services operation on stand Y061 this year at EBACE, Geneva, 19th - 21st May, alongside a display of the company's fan blade repair expertise and examples of the latest developmental metallic and composite wing structures.

The company's engine services operation was established forty five years ago and employs over 240 skilled personnel who service more than 400 engine repairs each year, undertaking all levels of engine maintenance up to and including full overhaul and test of commercial and military aero engines.

The facility is OEM (original equipment manufacturer)-authorised and provides maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) for the complete range of Honeywell TFE731 turbofan engines - which equip aircraft such as the Bombardier Learjet, Dassault Falcon, Raytheon Hawker and Cessna Citation. OEM authorisation allows GKN Aerospace to service engines that are enrolled on the Honeywell Maintenance Service Plan (MSP), or are covered by new engine warranty or lease engine administration agreements. The operation also provides the full range of MRO services for non-MSP operators.

Olof Pettersson, General Manager Engine Services comments: "Our maintenance facility, which is located close to Gothenberg in Sweden, draws on the resources and expertise of the entire company to offer efficient, effective support worldwide. We provide everything from small detail repairs to full engine overhaul and test and offer 24 hour-a-day availability to ensure our customers' aircraft remain operational. Our goal is to grow our MRO business, working with the OEM's to extend the MRO service we supply to reach more operators around the globe."

The engine services operation's quick engine change system provides flexibility and fast turn-around by using dedicated preparation areas for specific engine types whilst comprehensive, state of the art engine test cells diagnose faults in a hush-house environment that allows engines to be tested 24 hours a day without disturbing the surrounding area.

Engine services representatives from will be at the stand throughout the show to discuss the company's capabilities, business solutions and technical aspects related to TFE731 MRO.
