Kratos Awarded $29.6M Missile Defense Technology Development Contract
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions announced today that its Digital Fusion Solutions, Inc. (DFI) subsidiary was awarded a $12,060,193 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and development competed through the broad area announcement process. The total value of the basic contract and all options is $29,559,440.
DFI, which is a part of Kratos' Defense & Rocket Support Services (DRSS) Division, will provide research in the areas of aerosciences, electronic systems, and thermal systems, encompassing such diverse technologies as aerodynamics, aero-optics, hypersonic vehicle analysis, modeling and simulation, directed energy component evaluation, and development of thermal management systems.
Work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of May 29, 2020. Bids were solicited via the Internet with 10 received. The fiscal 2015 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $10,300,000 are being obligated at the time of the award. The Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting organization (W9113M-15-C-0013).
