FN display at the show a full range of portable weapons at DSEi 2005

DSEI this year will give FN HERSTAL the opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities for maintaining its long-standing product range whilst bringing innovative solutions worldwide.

Will be on display at the show a full range of portable weapons, amongst which the famous MAG 7.62 and the MINIMITM 5.56 machine guns, the 5.7 weapon system (including the P90® submachine gun and the Five-seveN® pistol), the F2000 integrated weapon system 5.56 calibre, as well as the 9mm steel and polymer frame pistols.

The FN303 less lethal launcher offers both armies and law enforcement officers an alternative to the use of firearms. The projectiles have been specifically designed to break up on impact, eliminating risks of penetrating injuries. Typical missions are domestic violence intervention, marking violent suspects and building surveillance.

Over the last ten years, FN HERSTAL has seen its integrated weapon system business growing steadily. More than 1,000 helicopters and subsonic aircraft have been equipped with 7.62mm or .50 calibre machine guns, either crew served or axially mounted. FN HERSTAL has recently been awarded with a major contract for producing M3M .50 calibre machine guns for US Navy and Marine Corps rotary-wing assault aircraft.

FN HERSTAL, in co-operation with Oerlikon Contraves, has also developed an Advanced Reconnaissance and Remotely Operated Weapon System, called the ARROWS®. This vehicle mounted system is equipped with a .50 calibre machine gun and is able to acquire and destroy land, sea and air targets, either fixed or mobile, upto 2,500 meters whilst offering the operator full protection.
