Long Term Training Contracts Signed by STARS and New Jersey State Police

AgustaWestland has announced that long term training service contracts have been signed with customers operating AW139 intermediate twin helicopters in the United States and Canada.

Signing a five year training contract, helicopter emergency medical services provider STARS, operating three AW139s throughout Western Canada, is extending its agreement with AgustaWestland to provide recurrent training for its AW139 pilots. A non-profit helicopter air ambulance organization that provides rapid and specialized emergency care and transportation for critically ill and injured patients, STARS operates from bases in Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and Winnipeg.

The State of New Jersey has signed a three year training contract, with the option to add two additional years, that features a comprehensive package of services including simulator training for pilots of the multi-mission AW139 helicopters operated by New Jersey State Police. The State Police's fleet of five AW139s is tasked with law enforcement, surveillance, EMS, and homeland security activities.

These contracts combined will deliver more than 2,600 simulator flight hours to the pilots of STARS and New Jersey State Police, enhancing the operational readiness and providing customers with unprecedented fleet and crew management capabilities, enhancing flexibility and safety while also reducing costs. The simulator training will be conducted at Rotorsim USA, a joint venture of AgustaWestland and CAE.
