UTC Aerospace Systems selected by Asiana Airlines to provide landing gear services for 747-400 aircraft
UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp., has been selected by Asiana Airlines Inc. to provide landing gear maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for its fleet of Boeing 747-400 aircraft. The work will be performed at the UTC Aerospace Systems Center of Excellence in Miami, a world leader in performing overhauls on Boeing landing gear.
"This selection demonstrates Asiana Airlines' confidence in our full-service MRO support," said Jim Wharton, president, Landing Systems, a business unit of UTC Aerospace Systems. "Landing Systems has a long-standing relationship Asiana Airlines providing landing gear and wheel and brake products. We look forward to continuing our relationship and providing excellent, around the clock support for the 747-400 aircraft."
Asiana Airlines Inc., established in 1988, is a Star Alliance member airline in South Korea. Headquartered in Seoul, the airline's domestic hub is at Gimpo International Airport, and its international hub is at Incheon International Airport. It operates 10 domestic and 90 international passenger routes, and 23 cargo routes throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.
