Milestone IP video surveillance software wins award at IIPSEC 2006.
XProtect Enterprise IP video surveillance software from Milestone Systems has been voted by the IP UserGroup as the winner of the IP in Security Innovation award.
At the IIPSEC 2006 show in the UK last week, a gala dinner was held to present awards marking leaders in the security industry. Milestone Systems XProtect Enterprise won the IP UserGroup Award for IP in Security Innovation, as voted by the group's thousands of members to be ‘the product which has stood out from the crowd'. In addition, the new Milestone XProtect Smart Client based on .Net technology was a finalist for the IP Security Awards 2006 Best Software Product.
IIPSEC, now in its fourth year, has become the European security industry event for exchanging ideas and exploring the latest IP innovations, giving security practitioners and end users a chance to experience for themselves state-of-art products, services and solutions. Milestone Systems was also an exhibitor at the show, so interested attendees were able to learn more about XProtect IP video surveillance software hands-on.
"At the IIPSEC show this year, innovation was definitely the theme. IP as a technology is clearly here to stay, and as a platform for out-of-the-box thinking it offers huge scope for those innovators developing for a wide range of security and business applications, states Paul Hennings, Commercial Director of the IP UserGroup. "I am also delighted that the Awards were so well received. I had not dreamt that they were so highly regarded and sought after - I congratulate the winners who have emerged from an extremely high quality group of entries."
The IP UserGroupâ„¢ is an independent security technology forum founded in 2003 by the team who run the IIPSEC show. This group has grown to be the premier forum for IP technology and networked security solutions. The 8,000+ members and affiliates come from a diverse mix of disciplines and industry sectors, making up a community of individuals interested in the development and adoption of IP-based products and services.
"We were thrilled to receive this award from the IP UserGroup, as it represents the highest praise and recognition from people in the industry who really understand the value and quality of our open platform software, says Henrik Friborg, VP and co-founder of Milestone Systems. "The IP UserGroup members share our vision to spearhead the convergence of IT technology in the security industry.
The other nominees for the IP UserGroup Award 2006 included the Axis Communications 225 Fixed Dome Camera and Sony SNC-CS3P IP Colour Camera. Both of these camera models are supported by Milestone XProtect Enterprise software, along with more than 130 other models of video hardware from over 25 manufacturers. This wide choice is just one of the reasons for the popularity of Milestone's product line: it is also robust and reliable, proven in operation with 100,000 cameras worldwide, and it is designed with an open platform that allows integration with other systems and devices.
