Aviall Services, Inc. Announces New Supply Chain Agreement
Aviall Services, a business unit of Aviall Inc., (NYSE: AVL), today announced that it has entered into a Revenue Sharing Program (RSP) agreement with General Electric (NYSE: GE) to exclusively supply a designated number of aftermarket parts for the life of the CF6 engine program including the in-production CF6-80C2.
Aviall will manage 11 vendors for GE to fulfill the designated parts requirements for this RSP agreement and will utilize its critical core competencies of inventory forecasting and management, product fulfillment and quality management to insure GE's aftermarket customers have the product availability necessary to meet their needs. Aviall will upgrade its quality standard from ISO 9001:2000 to AS9120 as part of the implementation.
The CF6 family of high-bypass turbofan engines is the most popular large group of aircraft turbofan engines in the world, powering wide-bodies produced by Boeing and Airbus. The CF6 is currently certified on 11 wide-body aircraft models including the Boeing 747 and 767 and Airbus A300, A310 and A330 aircraft series. "With this agreement Aviall expands its supply chain services to include the direct management of an OEM's manufacturing supply base. OEMs have asked for expanded supply chain services and Aviall has stepped up again to provide seamless solutions to their needs. In addition, this RSP agreement further extends our working relationships with GE and supports our existing CF6 distribution agreement, said Dan Komnenovich, President, Aviall Services.
