Continued success in the airport sector for Sepura
Sepura has recently closed two significant deals with Spanish airports and expects to be able to announce a third shortly.
These new wins add to other recently awarded contracts in the sector that include Hannover Airport in Germany, won with T-Systems, as well as long-standing customers such as Air France.
Airports are fast moving, potentially hazardous environments that provide one of the toughest tests for communications systems. TETRA has proven to be an excellent solution, delivering the reliability, security and functionality required in airport environments. Sepura's range of robust hand-held radios and their leading operational control software have proven to be a winning combination for Seville and Granada airports. These contracts were won in conjunction with Sepura's partners Telvent and Rohill respectively.
Sepura has developed special functionality in its latest software release for its TETRA terminals, which provides a bespoke communications solution for airport users. These enhancements include integrating the TETRA network with existing airport systems and the existing telephone network. This offers a number of benefits in terms of user acceptance and increased productivity.
Sepura also offers a number of security and safety features including GPS positioning and single-press emergency broadcast.
Emanuele Algieri, Sepura's Southern Europe Regional Director commented: "These recent contracts confirm that Sepura radios are the preferred choice among Spanish TETRA terminal users, for reasons of reliability and enhanced functionality. Sepura has been selected by more than 70% of the Spanish TETRA users for our ability to offer solutions to customers' specific needs. Airports in particular have a demanding list of requirements, needing to coordinate everything from catering, to refuelling and apron safety. Seville and Granada are two of Spain's fast growing airports, having increased their passenger numbers by 35% in the last year*. The flexibility that Sepura offers will help support this growth.
