Sepura secures approval on Austria's Digital Public Safety Network
Sepura TETRA radios have received official certification to operate on Austria's BOS public safety network commissioned by the Austrian Ministry of Interior. This important milestone was achieved in conjunction with Kapsch, Sepura's valued partner in Austria. Kapsch BusinessCom is one of Austria's leading companies in communication solutions for private and public organisations as well as for operators and providers.
The country-wide deployment of the digital network is expected by 2009. It will be operated by the network provider TETRON and will be used by all public safety organisations, the justice and customs police forces and the federal governments.
Sepura radio terminals underwent extensive tests by the Austrian Authorities over four months, from January to April 2006. The approved radio products comprise Sepura's hand-held, mobile and covert terminals, which are now available to all TETRA users in Austria.
Hans Pawelka, Managing Director for radio solutions at Kapsch said "This achievement is testament to Sepura's market-leading TETRA products and high standards of pre-sales support. We are pleased to have the Sepura radios in our portfolio and to be the exclusive distributor for these successful products in Austria.
Kenneth Hubner, Regional Director for Sepura commented: "This prestigious achievement follows the exclusive approval gained by our radios on the Swedish public safety network in February this year. Our product offering was the most comprehensive submitted for trials and our organisation was able to provide rapid responses to the specific operational requirements set out in the tests".
