Frost & Sullivan award Barco leadership in defense market
Barco is proud to announce that Frost & Sullivan has recognized the company for its leadership in the defense market by presenting it with the prestigious 2007 European Best Defense Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Provider of the Year Award.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for the Best COTS Provider is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated an exceptional COTS development and delivery within the industry. "The excellence of Barco's COTS products, combined with its cost effectiveness and the company's ability to develop a prestigious defense clients' portfolio have enabled it to gain renown, says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Mr. Christopher Cradock. "Its activities, particularly in consoles, displays and rugged computing solutions, have expanded with large wins in Europe and the United States.
For more than a decade, Barco has been a trusted supplier of visualization solutions for the defense community. Building on its long-standing expertise, qualified resources and using third party off-the-shelf technologies, Barco provides a full range of COTS products including rugged displays, video imaging solutions, Command & Control (C&C) workstations and local situational awareness solutions. In addition, all these products can be integrated into subsystems to provide greater performance and lower risk for customers.
"Barco is committed to providing professional visualization solutions for mission critical, C4ISR visualization, says Carl Peeters, President of Barco's Security and Monitoring Division. "In addition, our networked visualization platforms enable real-time Command & Control operations, research and mission planning and allow for sharing of information facilitating collaborative decision-making and situational awareness.
The award was handed over to Barco during the Frost & Sullivan's 2007 Excellence in Industry Awards Banquet honoring outstanding achievements in Aerospace & Defense and Automotive & Transportation, held on Thursday 14 June in London, UK.
