General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada Achieves CMMI Level 3 Rating for Engineering Design and Development
General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada has achieved a Maturity Level 3 rating on the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) scale for its Engineering, Design and Development (ED&D) organization. CMMI Level 3 focuses on the existence and use of a standard engineering management process and the integration of activities across the entire engineering organization.
"CMMI Level 3 is a significant achievement for our organization," said Dr. Sridhar Sridharan, senior vice president of General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada. "It demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality engineering work in the products we build for our customers."
SEI is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and operated by Carnegie Mellon University. The CMMI standard provides a maturity framework for improving processes that organizations use to develop and deliver products for customers.
General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada's processes were evaluated by a team from KAMO Consultancy. The appraisal was conducted according to the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) v1.2 A.
