Sun Microsystemsâ„¢ Awards "Solarisâ„¢ Ready" Certification to M-Systems' Fast Flash Disk (FFDâ„¢) Products
FFD SCSI Products Meet Standards of Interoperability with Sun's Workstations and Servers Running the Solaris Operating System
M-Systems (Nasdaq: FLSH), a leader in flash disk data storage products, today announced that its 3.5" Fast Flash Disk (FFDâ„¢) products have received "Solarisâ„¢ Ready" Certification from Sun Microsystemsâ„¢ (Nasdaq: SUNW).
To earn the "Solaris Ready" designation, M-Systems' 3.5" Ultra-Wide SCSI and 3.5" Narrow SCSI FFD products passed rigorous independent testing and are now certified as compatible with Sun equipment and the Solaris operating system.
"Customers considering M-Systems' rugged and reliable SCSI flash disks for their Sun workstations and servers running Solaris now have the peace of mind of knowing that interoperability is certified," said Ofer Tsur, M-Systems' Fast Flash Disk marketing manager. "Successfully passing Sun's stringent compliance tests will encourage potential customers to use the FFD products on Sun's platforms, which are commonly used throughout military, telecom and automation industries."
About the Solaris Ready Logo Program:
Developed as a means for third-party vendors to formally announce that their enhancement product is Sun Solaris-compatible, the Solaris Ready logo indicates interoperability. Products bearing the Solaris Ready logo have undergone standardized testing to earn the Solaris Ready verified status. All Solaris Ready logo products must undergo testing in an independent laboratory and/or in Sun's in-house verification labs, and meet additional criteria, to become verified Solaris Ready. More information about the Solaris Ready Logo Program and M-Systems' FFD approval can be found on the Internet at www.sun.com/solarisready/SRHandbk.html and www.sun.com/io_technologies/ihvnew2.html#m-systems.
