RESON announces 3 new contracts at this years Ocean Business 2009
RESON has been awarded a new contract for delivery and installation of a SeaBat 7150-F dual frequency deepwater sonar system on the R/V White Holly in May 2009.
The delivery of the SeaBat 7150 is the first RESON sale of a deepwater system to an independent owner. Until now, the White Holly owned by Captain Vincent Backen has primarily been an educational and research vessel used in academic circles such as; Scripps, MBARI, US Fish and Game, and the Smithsonian. In 2008 the White Holly per-formed exceptionally well with the SeaBat 8160. With this new investment in the SeaBat 7150-F sonar system, White Holly Expeditions LLC will not only be able to offer Deep Water Hydrographic capabilities, but also, counter the short-ages of hull-mounted vessels commercially available on the West Coast of America. Based in Sausalito, CA, White Holly is an open resource vessel, available for hire, for any mid-water and deep-water Multibeam survey, capable of working anywhere in the world. White Holly is a 133foot vessel equipped with a SeaBat 8160 for depths down to 3000m. Furthermore it has the capacity to comfortably accommodate up to 12 surveyors. The new SeaBat 7150 is RESON's advanced deepwater multibeam solution for detailed bathymetry from 200m to be-low 6000m. It provides the user the ultimate in resolution, performance and system expandability. The SeaBat 7150-F version is configured for 12kHz and 24kHz operations with focused beam widths of 2ºx2º and 1ºx1º respectively. The sonar system will be installed in an eight meter long gondola, which has recently been shipped from Denmark.Aarsleff Bilfinger Berger Joint Venture (ABJV) awarded RESON the contract to deliver and install an excavator and wirecrane monitoring systems.
Both excavator and wirecrane are to be used for the installation of a windmill park, comprising 92 windmills. RESON was chosen over other suppliers due to their excellent track record in this type of installation and project. The PDS2000-crane monitoring system allows the client to dredge very efficiently to the design depth and model. The full shape of the crane together with the position and heading of the pontoons are shown in real-time, allowing for centimeter accuracy during the operation. The delivery comprises a full set of RESON potmeter, cable length counters, heading sensors, RESON interfaces and the PDS2000-Excavator - Wirecrane software. Both installation and training were executed by RESON em-ployees.RESON has been awarded a contract by the British-based NetSurvey Ltd. to deliver two SeaBat 7125-SV multibeam sonar systems in dual-head configuration
NetSurvey is working within advanced hydrographic survey services using multibeam technology. From SOLAS chart-ing surveys to marine habitat survey, port surveys including quay wall inspection to multibeam specialist services for pipeline and site surveys. The company provides the highest quality and most technologically advanced solutions. The new SeaBat 7125-SV will be used for a variety of application requiring ultra-high resolution. SeaBat 7125-SV offers a number of new and unique features. The new transceiver provides an integrated multiport serial card and is available with PDS2000 pre-installed for data acquisition and display as well as data processing on the same hardware platform. Four video outputs allow multiple user and helm displays to be run. Variable swath coverage of up to 128° featuring a 400kHz frequency offers the preferred combination of swath and resolution. A real-time uncertainity output from the SeaBat 7125 may be used in PDS2000, along with information from other sensor to calculate a TPE (Total Propagated Error). Soundings may be filtered by setting either the relevant IHO order or by defining custom vertical error limit. Other new features in SeaBat 7125-SV are roll stabilization, XYZ offsets, Quality filter and advanced diagnostic which increase survey efficiency. The managing director of NetSurvey, Duncan Mallace, states: NetSurvey has always been at the forefront of inno-vation in the use of multibeam technology and in the purchase of these two SeaBat 7125 systems we have the tools to enhance our products and services. The Seabat 7125 is, in our opinion, the most advanced multibeam sonar currently available and this will allow NetSurvey to continue to develop and provide unique high resolution solutions to our clients worldwide. NetSurvey Ltd. has many years of experience using SeaBat sonar systems. In addition to the new SeaBat 7125 Net-Survey has SeaBat 8124, 8101, 8125, 8111 and 8160 sonar systems in the equipment pool. Two sound velocity probes, SVP-71 will be delivered with the new SeaBat 7125-SV sonar system. For more information contact:
